Chrysalis kicked off our Pride celebrations with a trip for staff and Chrysalis residents to Queer Museum in the newly vibrant Kings Cross.
After a spot of lunch, a nose around the magnificently restored industrial buildings, and a walk by the canal, we headed over to the museum. It’s incredible to have the UK’s only dedicated LGBTQ+ museum in such an atmospheric and central location. We experienced the museum’s vivid images, texts and photographs showcasing decades of London LGBTQ+ life. Images of LGBTQ+ life from punk to same sex marriage to Alan Turing on the £50 pound note! We also learned that London has one of the highest queer populations in Europe, with some boroughs topping 8%.
As Pride month continues, we’re practically wild with excitement about Pride weekend and the Pride March, as well as very much looking forward to being represented at Trans Pride.
